Hey, just curious. Have you ever shifted as your kinselves (Phantom/Mental, etc), and if so, what did it feel like?

I do occasionally experience kin shifts, although until recently, I wasn’t exactly aware that that was what I was experiencing. The term is fairly new, and until I understood what it meant, I actually considered it ‘silly’.

Shifts obviously feel different depending on what life I’m experiencing a shift to- a Vriska shift feels very different than a Ken shift, though sometimes they’re close if its more of a ‘digimon kaiser’ shift.

In general a shift for me is accompanied by a feeling of energy running through my body, and a change in the focus and intensity of my thoughts. Sometimes it will be hard to separate my current identity from my ‘shifted’ identity. I might give my name as Ken if asked, for instance.

Memories are very potent and intense during a shift, and the feeling of my body changes. Shifts give me a lot of gender dysphoria, pretty much across the board. When I look into the mirror, I expect to see my shifted face, rather than my human one.
