What really confused me about the “you can’t be kin if you’re an adult” drama was the fact that… we grew up. We didn’t stay 16 or 7 or whatever age forever, whether canon portrayed us aging or not. Unless we died before reaching adulthood. But even in that case, we’re adults now, so we obviously got to grow up anyway. For most of one show, I was 7. I didn’t stay 7 forever. Watching it is just remembering what my childhood was like, not “I’m literally still 7.”
Every single fictionkin was once a child in their canons. No character was just born as a teenager or an adult. Everyone was a child, excepting I guess species that don’t follow the same birth/age/death cycle.
God I just. Even when I was 16, I didn’t have my head this far up my own asshole that every last single shred of critical thinking flew out the window. I can’t really fathom it. I have to assume this is done on purpose to get a reaction, because the thought that they actually believe this stuff gives me a migraine.
