Tumblr kid: “I chose x character as my kintype and want to be taken seriously as them!”
Experienced kin, off-tumblr kinmunity, people who found themselves who actually fit the definition of kin: “You can’t choose kintypes, could you please not spread misinformation about this identity we don’t get a say in?”
Tumblr kid: “Lmao what do you mean you didn’t choose, you expect to be taken seriously??”
And so continues the cycle of “it’s only a respectable thing if it means I can do whatever I want”.
