“Because of multiverse theory, anything I create, or anyone else creates, already exists somewhere else.” Completely absurd, and offensive to artists who don’t think like this. But I can see there’s no point going any further as your idea is basically “everything exists”, which is both unfalsifiable and humorously childish.

captain-s-mindfang: Whatever you say. You simply don’t have a mind or will to grasp the concept of the infinite. If you ever want to grasp…

But fictional characters are created by writers and artists? Just because somebody imagined something, that means it exists in one of infinite parallel universes? That implies one of two things: either humans are Gods who can create new universes by just imagining whatever, or fictional characters existed before the writer/artist imagined them and it’s not actually their creation. They’re both absurd, and the second one is actually disrespectful.

captain-s-mindfang: It implies neither. A truly infinite multiverse demands that not only any fictional world can exist, but that all fictional worlds must exist, including…

You’re misusing the idea of a multiverse. Every POSSIBILITY can happen, not EVERY outcome. There is not a universe where everything is the same but the earth is a hot dog, or everything is the same but magic exists, because both of these are not a possible outcome.

captain-s-mindfang: Actually you’re wrong, they are absolutely possible outcomes. All it takes is a radically different set of physics dictating the universe in question. And…

About kin memories: do all kin have those? I have three kin types I have discovered over the years but only memories from one, and I have no way of knowing if I fabricated those or not. Does this mean I’m not really kin? (Genuine question) I know I get species dysphoria at rare times and yearn for where I used to exist, at least for two of my kins, but I have no memories at all for my fic type even though I know for certain I am kin with him… (Srry if u can’t answer!)

: Memories aren’t a requirement. They’re (usually) something only those who believe in reincarnation get at all, although… reading some things from @anexpertonboredom, I think…

hi! idk where to go for this question. i’m japanese and have usually identified with jpns anime characters, but the anime character i’m considering identifying with atm is white (he’s english). i feel really weird abt this, because i understand the racism behind white ppl and poc identifying outside of their race, but since he’s white… i dont know. i dont think it makes a difference that the source is japanese, but im still concerned and i’d rather not id with him if it’s bad!

ive seen a few ppl saying that kinity is just stealing from native americans who have spiritual connections to animals (ppl who are actually native have told me this before), but native americans aren’t the only culture in the world to have spiritual connections to animals and are not the only ones who can claim that they are reincarnations of animals.

: If actual Natives are misinformed and concerned about appropriation, I’d love to have dialogue with them. But considering I’m one of those non-Native Americans…

Just throwing this out there, what if we had a dedicated tag for kin positivity/ aesthetics/ support type blogs? Something like #kinfriendly ? (or another…

hey, i need help. i’m fictionkin and otherkin, but lately i’ve been feeling really… empty. like i feel like i’m in a shift for a kin i haven’t even discovered yet. i feel sick and scared and lonely, and i’m really not sure what to do. i’ve even been getting foggy memories from whatever kintype this may be, and they’re completely unrelated to any kintype i’ve recognized. i’m fairly certain my hair was black and i had tan skin, and i was likely masc identifying and presenting (cont)

(cont) but i’m not completely sure. i honestly just feel like something is missing. what should i do? could this be a kintype, or am…

who-is-page: Some anti-kin seriously need to calm down. Like cool, you don’t share our opinions! You think they’re weird or ridiculous, alright! That’s how you…

is it bad that i try to stop kinshifts when they happen? i’m fickin and i have bpd so i tend to latch on to the identity of my most prominent kintypes, but the last time i really had a kinshift was earlier january because i found every time after that that i started to shift i felt really uncomfortable as if i was suddenly losing my identity or something so i would immediately take away what was causing the shift and find something that would make me shift back to the character i was before

: This is a really complicated question. For one thing, I don’t have BPD, so I’m not sure if I can give you the kind…

Ive seen a lot of antikin start using the agurement of their religion. It’s mostly used against Fickin and someone I used to follow used it as their arguement for being anti-Fickin but not anti-otherkin. But they were very aggressive, stating that “it’s not possible bc my religion says so!!!! You’re not fictional characters!!!!” like that’s literally what they were saying. I wanted to know if this is a new argument or not and how to deal with it bc anons have used it agianst me before.

I actually haven’t heard someone argue that the existence of fictionkin was somehow ‘against their religion’ yet. Its an…. interesting one.  I suppose if it were…
