I don’t have a question or anything, but just wanted to say it’s nice to see another older person in the community. I’ve only run into about four others who were around before tumblr. It’s nice to remember it’s not all kids out there.

I have to agree ^^ I know only a handful of older fictionkin, and its always nice to see more. <3 

Sadly, I think the community will always skew heavily so that the bulk of its members at any given time are younger. The idea of fictionkin easily attracts a lot of young people who are exploring their identities and trying to find themselves.

 As they get older, the majority of people who once identified as fictionkin either no longer feel the need to associate with the community because they understand themselves and don’t need the support any more, or they realize they were never fictionkin to begin with and move on. 

That of course leaves a minority of fictionkin who are both confident in their identity as fictionkin, and still feel the call to socialize and discuss with kin. Us. 🙂
