Hello, sorry if this is a bother, but could you talk about or direct me to anyone talking about “copinglink”? I think I understand what it means, but am not sure I quite get it. I did a Google search and a Tumblr search, but came up with 2 posts, which were both angry sounding posts and didn’t actually mention what copinglink was, just that it exists. :( I’m all for new terms to describe things, esp because “kin” has been twisted so much lately by others.

Copinglink is a very new term. I’m pretty sure it’s meant to replace copingkin? @inexplicablehanyou can probably explain better than I can.

geostigmata: I really, really hate when people use their kin identities to spite others. Harassing non-kin fans with your memories and headcanons, screaming that they’re…

inexplicablehanyou: @ that post regarding other/fictionhearted and copinglink being “ableist” I definitely didn’t appreciate the implication that there’s some secret link between kintypes and mental illness,…

In case it isn’t obvious @kiwi-chan-kin is not a real otherkin. They are a troll/anti-kin/parody account. Posting this because anti-kin always seem confused by parody/fake…

inexplicablehanyou: So, it’s been noted before that as the kin communities moved onto tumblr, the language to describe certain things has been left behind a…

inexplicablehanyou: lmao, yeah, there’s no need at all for words like other/fictionhearted or copinglink, oh no, can’t be, those were just made up by evil neurotypicals…

who-is-page: epochryphal: lmao the idea that “preserving the definition of a word” aka linguistic prescriptivism aka gatekeeping, isnnnnn’t quiiiite respectability politics and is tooootally unobjectionableeee,…

The thing is, otherkin/fictionkin stuff keeps getting mixed up with mental health issues and sexuality, gender and identity politics, and it… really has nothing to…

slothjusticewarrior: Okay, can we just get something straight? You can’t choose your gosh darn kintypes. Ooh!! Edgy!! I know, my friend, but before you mutter…

frameacloud: Being in the otherkin community for a long time is sort of like birdwatching, really. Like, “Oh, you know, I saw someone who identified as…

Also I wanted to ask what your thoughts and opinions on psychological fictionkin are? What do you think are the similarities between metaphysical and psych kin? Do you think mental illness could affect this somehow? Sorry for sending two asks, but they are two different questions. UnU

Psychological kin are as legitimate as spiritual kin. They experience all the same phenomena as spiritual kin (memories, dysphoria, supernumerary phantom limbs, etc) but they…

This is probably gonna sound dumb, but is it a kin thing to get like really intense secondhand embarrassment from a character? I have a lot of strong feelings involving one character and I’m trying to analyze how I feel critically but have a hard time because of mental illness don’t know what normal thinking is like at all.

Secondhand embarrassment on behalf of your kinself is something that a lot of kin experience. My fiancee and I personally experience a lot of it.…

inexplicablehanyou: I still think that for many people, there’s this idea that something is gained by calling themselves kin. There’s not. You don’t “win” anything…

genuine-dragonkin: inexplicablehanyou: I want to repeat what I just said: when you wave around this “kin should mean whatever a person wants it to! everyone should…

Kin PSA

kipkipthefoxdog: spooky-snow: fromfiction: kipkipthefoxdog: Let’s say these were different people, who all identify as Fictionkin.. One is kin with Eren Jaeger. They think Eren is…

Hey! I really like your blog and I’ve been following for a while. I was wondering if you had any advice on soulbonding? I feel as though I’m ‘soulbonding’ with a few characters..but I’m doing it without trying? Do you think its possible to soulbond and not even know it? I feel as though Latios (the Pokemon) is with me. Is there a way to know if you truly are soulbonding these characters? Thank you and again, love your blog <3

It is absolutely possible to soulbond without knowing it, and in fact its very normal and natural for many people it occurs to. For me,…

Hey, I am host to a walk-in fictive and soulbond, and I have wondered lately how often the host should talk with their bonds? They tend to come and go whenever they want, but I started wondering if I’m supposed to talk to them regularly? I love them both but I tend to like being alone, and I don’t want to ignore them or anything.

There’s absolutely no ‘rule’ for this, its entirely up to what you and your bonds feel comfortable with. As long as you and they are…

im not the original anon, but it literally says right in anti-anti-wincest’s description “Supportive of consensual adult incest.” they regularly hurl ableist slurs at people, told someone theyre not a pedophile for liking shota/loli (which is literal pedophilia), and otherwise most of the content on their blog is defending pedophilia and incest. i dont see how sources are needed when it takes about a minute of scrolling to see it clearly.

Its never okay to use ableist slurs on anyone. However not everyone will agree that shota/loli is equal to supporting pedophilia.
