Hi! I have a question regarding memories. I’m pretty sure what I’ve been seeing are memories but sometimes they’re from 3rd person? I know it’s def me there and I know I’m me but it’s still like seeing myself from 3rd person pov. It confuses me a little. Is that still valid? Thank you!

Hi anon! Third-person memories are something some people experience whether they’re kin or not. A memory being in third person does not make it invalid.…

I was wondering if you could help me. I’ve experienced a phenomena for nearly as long as I can remember, where fictional characters manifest in a sort of ‘imaginary friend’ like state to me. I can see them and hear them as though they were a ‘real’ person beside me, and I’ve been calling this soulbonding, but I was wondering if you could suggest a better word for this experience?

Hi there anon! I’ve known a lot of different soulbonders over the years, all of whom have had unique ways of interacting with their bonds.…

Out of curiosity, do you think it’s possible to receive a sudden burst of insight about your kintypes? Not discovering them all at once for certain, but periods of time where it feels like all of them are attempting to enter your subconscious and remind you of who you are? It’s hard to explain, but I believe I’m going through one of those right now, and it’s making introspection a lot more difficult.

I absolutely believe that’s possible. I think we all get ‘insight dumps’ sometimes.

Do you recommend watching the entire source of your canon before confirming/entertaining the possibility of a kintype? I have a memory of working with something like an elecmon but I don’t think that matches anyone in the anime anyway. But I don’t want to talk about what I remember and have anyone tell me it’s impossible because of something I haven’t seen? Maybe I should watch it to fact check?

Watch as much as is useful to you. No one can ‘fact check’ you and say your kintype can’t have done something just because it didn’t…

Something I’ve been thinking about. You know how some particles/types of energy can’t act/move and be observed at the same time? Maybe that’s the reason…

What are fictionkin? Fictionkin; (noun): A person who discovers that they have in some way inherited the soul/spirit/complete mentality of a fictional character, and the…

Hello there! I’m new to kin and I have a few questions of you don’t mind answering them! question 1) I think I might kin with a character and I’m not quite sure but I have extremely strong feelings toward said character and I’m not sure how to go about them. What does this mean? Question 2) Is it normal, when kinning, to think “that’s me!” when you see a character you have strong feelings toward? Thats all i have but thanks in advance for reading this and possibly answering! Have a good day!

Also I’m the anon from the last ask with the 2 questions. Sorry if i might have made any misconceptions! I’m very new to this…

Regarding “xenomnesia”: It’s possible you have a mental connection with a character. Or empathic. Some kind of connection that let you share thoughts or memories. Or maybe even: Is there any kind of otherkin “vessel” concept in use? Channeling someone? Or having them give you thoughts/memories somehow? (I’m an empath, and I know a lot of my synpath [non-kin, but very deeply understanding] connections have this effect on me, especially my primary “soulbond”.)

Absolutely. There’s lots of reasons that this phenomenon could occur. Fictionflickers come to mind too as a possible source for xenomnesia.

I think it’s cool how you treat people with weird kintypes with the same respect you’d treat anyone else. I’ve seen “elders” in the kin community talk about how they’d reject people whose kintypes were too “out there”, and I think that’s incredibly unfair. I mean, nobody HAS to accept anyone else, but… it’s just really hypocritical, you know? Even those “good” and “allowable” kintypes are batshit to people outside of the community.

Even those “good” and “allowable” kintypes are batshit to people outside of the community. Exactly, anon.  In my worldview, thanks to multiverse theory, there’s just…

Is there a word for identifying as a fictional species, or fictional race of beings? Not one that was in canon, but someone from their same world. Is that still fictionkin? Is there a word for “I identify as that kind, but not that individual”? Also, is there a word for identifying as a fictional animal species? Is that fictionkin or therian?

Is there a word for identifying as a fictional species, or fictional race of beings? Not one that was in canon, but someone from their…

This isn’t exactly fictionkin related but uh. How would one “channel” a character and mentally swap with them, for example to harness their strengths or something? To take on their identity for a while? What would that be called or like, do you know where I could start searching for information?

That’s called copinglink if you want to draw strength from and ‘become’ the character.  Check tumblr #copinglink for more information  Or if you want the character…

Isn’t fictionhearted feeling a familial relationship to that character? I’m not fictionhearted myself, but I am dragonhearted and I describe that as seeing the dragon spirits around me as my true family. So, wouldn’t fictionhearted be less of “I want to be that” and more of “I feel that character is very close to me”?

It can be a familial connection, but it also can be feeling like you empathize so much with that character that you feel like you ‘are’…

Have you seen the blog racistkin? I like outside opinions as well, so what do you think about that? Not a single post I read on there actually said how being kin outside your race actually hurts poc. None of these posts seem to understand the concept of reincarnation either. I want these concepts covered by the blog because they are giant holes in their reasoning. I’m neither here not there on the issue yet, more information is needed.

I’m pretty sure i have the blog @racistkin blocked, and I advise everyone else do the same. They don’t understand what they’re talking about and…
