I’m kin with a character from a folktale. Would I qualify as fictionkin? I can’t find any evidence that the events happened in this world, so I assume it happened on another Earth and since it’s been written down and published, I feel like I qualify. On the other hand I’ve seen people use the term immortalkin and I was immortal for a while. (It’s complicated; Death eventually let me die after a while.) What’s the correct term for someone in my situation?

People use lots of little words to boil down their kin experience. Just because someone says they’re immortalkin doesn’t make them not otherkin. Think of…

question.. is it okay to be friends with 2 people that ID as the same character? i know 2 people that both id as papyrus and i love them both but i don’t want to offend either of them or have them get mad at me. i have a feeling they’ll cross paths and get very angry with me.

alter-human: imyonqsoo: fromfiction: That’s a hard question, anon. My immediate ‘gut instinct’ answer is that of course you can be friends with both of them. However,…

is there such a thing as a ‘non-kin id’?? like you can point at a character and unironically say ‘me! thats me’ but you dont think you were them in a past life or anything?? is that chara a synpath or are you fiction-hearted?? what if you change and you no longer id as that chara?? can u have a crush on your own id?? im sorry if this question has been asked before but im just very confused

Have you ever met anyone that was kin of someone from a joke canon? I have legitimate kin “pings” from a series on Youtube that is 100% parody and I have absolutely no idea what to make of it. I’ll probably never be able to tell anyone. If I said what it was right now, there’d be no way anyone would think I’m not lying. What I want to know is if anyone else has been in this situation.

I absolutely have. The first one who comes to mind is someone who told me their kintype was from a youtube ‘abridged series’, aka, a joke…

what if, for example, one looks deep within themselves and finds that they are literally, without a doubt a character? what if there are no memories, or feeling homesick or something? is that something else? also, is there like a requirement for a synpath? like, does it need to be a v strong connection? i know characters are made to be relatable and thats why im asking. thank you for your time!

jeshire-katt: fromfiction: Firstly, I can’t tell you if you’re kin or not, only you can do that. However, if you’re not experiencing any homesickness, memories,…

Oddly enough, I appear to be kin with characters who actually are or are affiliated to bulls. They are all different, I can tell that, they all have differing memories and astral parts, so I am almost certain I am not confusing one kintype for many. Is this something that has been know to happen? Folks being kin to a large group of characters with a similar theme?

This doesn’t seem that odd to me, anon. I think a lot of people who have multiple kintypes can follow a sort of ‘throughline’ of similarity…

KIN-ADJACENT EXPERIENCES (original post) I’m reposting this because it was originally posted before I heard the term alterhuman, and I think it belongs in that sphere.…

i’m questioning fictionkin at the moment; is it okay to know that if you were x character it was a long time ago and to be okay in your own body? i mean the character is a human so i’m not expecting dysphoria but like i don’t feel discomfort about being alive now it’s more just like since i found this character i’ve found part of me, like a lost memory? idk it’s all weird

Its absolutely okay, anon ^^ For some people body stuff is not as big of a deal as for other people. Some people experience heavy…

sorry if this is a weird question. i’ve been having memories that have been slowly seeping in over the past few years. however, it never occurred to me that i could be kin because i attribute my memories to mental illness, not to the multiverse theory, even though they definitely feel real to me. is this what psychological kin is, or is that something else?

It sounds like it could fall within psychological kin to me, though I’m by no means an expert.

There’s a lot of criticism [especially in fictionkin communities] aimed at people who “cling too tightly to their kin life.” Meanwhile, in this life I have found a source of peace and spiritual enlightenment in the philosophy of my old race. Is it unhealthy or wrong to do this? I mean I know it’s not, but second opinions are sometimes good to have.

infinitedraconity: I don’t think following any certain philosophy is wrong unless you’re hurting others (which it doesn’t seem like you’re doing). If it gives you…
