So… was there no physical interaction? Did the FF7 house destroy any chance of that or did things like “howls” or other meetups actually occur? I was mostly wondering because you said glamourbombing didn’t help the cause, and I’m not sure what that meant. Did people interview the glamourbombers and they straight-up said “I’m an elf” on live TV??
Otherkin meetups did, and still do occur. I’ve never been to one myself, but they’re very definitely a real thing that happens. Google ‘kin gather’ and you should get some results.
Glamourbombings–honestly I don;t know if they helped or not? Its not really my call to make. I sort of always wanted to do one, because I do like to call attention to myself. But sadly almost all the attention they got was negetive. They just made us look ‘crazy’. Possibly because of the way they were done. I suppose I wouldn’t be opposed to organizing some kind of modern glamour bombing, if we could come up with something that was constructive, both for the community and outsiders.

Yes, that’s pretty much exactly what happened.
The FF7 house didn’t ruin the chance of anything. The ff7 house was a group of friends, and there will always be groups of those. The only reason we hear about the FF7 house is because it ended badly, and someone got mad and bitter over it and wrote and ‘expose’.
I live in a situation right now that could be considered analogous to the FF7 house. There are four bodies in my household. Me and my fiancee, and my best friend and his fiancee. We’re all kin. 3 of us are fictionkin, and one is otherkin. We’re all soulbonders. It gets noisy. If one of us were to leave the group, and the community, I’m sure there’s all kinds of nasty things we could write.
