Hi um! I appreciate your kin ≠ gender post, but the line about gender being “visible at all times” really rubs me wrong. For example: a stranger would probably assume I’m a cis girl. I’m agender; it’s not visible. The statement just feels really exclusive of people who can’t (or don’t want to) present in a manner that ‘matches’ their gender. Am I misinterpreting it?? Thank you.
Sounds like I phrased it a little bit poorly! When I wrote ‘visible at all times’ what I meant was that people are evaluating and making assumptions about your gender every time they see you, based on your looks/presentation, which as you mention is a problem for a lot of transpeople!
