Does anyone know of a word currently or previously in use that describes the combined fictionkin/ otherkin/ otherhearted/ fictionhearted/ synpath/ fictive/ soulbond community, or any significant chunk there in?
Alterhuman seems like it fits, it’s something me and at least one other person I know of have been trying to stick with since it was coined. I find using it to cover SoulBonders a bit awkward as they are not directly different from the average bear, but it does technically cover it, as well as a bunch of other stuff.
A person can be alterhuman/have an alterhuman identity, but I’ve been finding it most useful in emphasising that there can be, and in many ways already is, an alterhuman community. That nobody should feel like they’re being kicked out just because they fit or do not fit one or other label within the alterhuman community.
Alterhuman seems like a great word, and a great way to emphasize that there is a community. I’m going to start using this word as a tag when talking about things that concern more than just kin. I really feel like its important that we do connect as a larger community.
As for fitting soulbonders, I agree not quite- but it fits soulbonds and that’s probably close enough.
