I want to open up about being fictionkin and make some friends in the community and stuff, but I’m really sensitive about bullying and I’m not sure I could handle being targeted for mockery the way kin are. Any suggestions? :(

Its tough to get into the fictionkin community without a thick skin, because sadly, it does open one up to ridicule a bit. I do have some tips about how to have the best time possible without getting harassed.

1) make a dedicated fictionkin blog and do NOT link any of your other blogs to it. Just don’t. If there are people you trust, give hem the link privately.

2) find ‘safe tags’. These are tags that are only used within the community, and not obvious for random people to wander into. I can’t give them out publicly, but if you come off anon and ask, I can share them privately.

3) find pirvate communities. Join forums off off tumblr, and join private skype chats. These are much more friendly, and less likely to make you the target of harassment.

If you follow those guidelines, you should have a pretty good time ^^
