hey! i have a really.. weird question? at least it seems to be weird because nobody’s been able to answer me- i was wondering if there’s a way to stop being self conscious/upset about the number of kintypes i have? i’m kin with quite a number of things, mostly fictionkin.. and kinsidering quite a number more. i’m really self conscious about it so i was wondering if there was advice to not be.. that? thank you for reading and answering if you do!! i hope you have a lovely day!!

Two things–, no, three. First, the best way to get over being self-conscious/upset about “too many” kintypes, is the same way to get over anything that…

A popular youtube channel has made a lengthy video about “The final fantasy house”, so expect more trolling activity than usual in the soulbonding and otherkin…

As someone with DID, I am asking you to take ‘fictive’ out of your ‘alterhuman’ definition. Please. It feels really disrespectful of my disorder and the clinical words we use pertaining to it. These are for alters only and do not belong under the ‘alterhuman’ umbrella. We have our own words for those, fictive is one word we use for an alter with traits/name/experiences of a fictional character, introject is another. This is very disconcerting as someone who needs this word to stay clinical.

Fictive was a word coined by the alterhuman/soulbonding/endogenic community. The clinical word is fictional introject. confirmation: LINK see the 4th paragraph of this answer.

hey felix! i had a question, and i wanted your take on the subject. if you are kin with somebody immortal, how would you have reincarnated to this life? i have a couple of kintypes that are supposably unkillable and immortal, but i must have been killed to be here now, right? this has been on my mind for a while and i’d love to hear your take on it. hope you have a great day! sending good vibes your way.

Hey there anon! Thanks for the good vibes 😀 right back atcha.  As someone with at least one immortal kintype I’ve examined this question a…

What is with this sudden belief that reincarnation kin isn’t actually kin at all? I’m going to you because you know your stuff, but there has been a really sudden rise of misinformation lately and it’s really making me nervous. “Kinning” suddenly got popular with a lot of people I follow, and it high key makes me nervous because I sort of take this serious and I have past lives and memories, but people have been taking the names of those I used to know and it’s making me really uncomfortable…

On tumblr the idea of fictionkin got spread around a lot, and a lot of people have misunderstood it, to the point where some people…

I only heard of fictionkin a day ago but I cant stop thinking about it. Theres a character in a show I watch that I connect with on a personal level so much so its almost scary. I don’t think I am or ever was this person but identifying with/as them makes me feel so comfortable and validated. Is this fictionkin or is it just something entirely different? It might be worth adding that I have a dissociation disorder and I’m worried this is just a coping mechanism that my mind made up. Thanks!

“I don’t think I am or ever was this person but identifying with/as them makes me feel so comfortable and validated”    Hey friend! The…

I figured somebody who has been in the ‘kin community’ for so long would be the perfect person to ask about this! I understand that everyone’s experience is different, but how do you know if you’re kin…? For example, I feel a very strong and personal bond/relation towards Achilles (Greek mythology) and saying I simply enjoy his stories or that he’s my favorite seems like a major understatement. This is also the case with a few other characters.. could I be fiction-kin? Sorry if this is stupid!

Not stupid questions! Here’s some info that should help you. http://fromfiction.tumblr.com/Experience http://fromfiction.tumblr.com/howtoknow

Since you’re a kin who’s on the web field, how would you perceive the possibility of a site that serves as a database to search for other alterhumans? With search by category as a main feature. I’ve been simmering on the idea for a while, and I wanna know how out-there it is, since I’m only starting on databank studies.

Its been tried. Its never stuck. Partially because no one with the programming/database knowhow has had a go at it.

Is it reasonable to be kin but not associate with other fictionkin? I recently figured out I’m kin after a few months of questioning and while being in this community I just really don’t like it. There’s so much arrogance, negativity, and grilling of others. The one place I thought I could express myself and share experiences I don’t even feel safe in. This isn’t directed at you just the fictionkind community in general. Sorry this turned into a vent. I’m just tired of having no where to go

I know the feeling, and its perfectly okay not to want to associate or interact in an environment or with people you don’t feel comfortable…

My friend is fictionkin and from what I know she identifies with multiple different characters due to personality, and she goes through these things called kinshifts where I’d say her personality shifts a little to a different character just depending on how she feels. I don’t know much. But I’ve been interested in it and I don’t really have a spiritual connection with characters but is it fictionkin to identify to give a sense of identity to yourself and give a peace of mind?

HI anon 🙂 As you’ve noticed Kinshifts are when your personality and perception of yourself changes a little to match whatever kintype is active during…

Hi, I was wondering if you could tell me if fictionkin involves fictional species/characters of your own creation? For example, if you created a species, or character, and felt kin to it, would that be fictionkin or otherkin? So far I’ve mostly seen fictionkin being for pre-existing characters or species in media created by someone else. But otherkin also sometimes seems to be only for Earth animals and not fantasy-based creatures. Could you clear this up?

Kintypes that involve species of your own creation can be considered otherkin or fictionkin, depending on your presence and who you’re talking to. But otherkin…

I’m totally piggybacking off the other anon here but, is it wrong, while questioning or figuring things out, to preemptively call yourself (blank character or term) as a sort of “here try this on and see if this is really how you feel”? Or do you think maybe it’s best to wait for things to blow over n stuff?

Its totally fine to ‘test out’ a name or identity to see if that matches what you’re feeling. And don’t feel bad about letting people know…

Hello, Felix. I’m a bit confused about my identity as alterhuman. I’m spiritual, but I have a large number of kintypes. I genuinely believe that I have experienced all of those lives, but I worry that my bpd may have misled me, or may do so in the future. I am also unsure how to tell if a kintypes is truly a kintype, or if I’m a fictionflicker and just unaware of it. Sorry for bothering you, but any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hey there anon. Your ask is no bother, and I hope I can help. I will be honest, I am not very familiar with BPD…
